I am so happy because this past month I updated my makeup bag! This was a much needed shopping spree on makeup products. Here is a sneak peak of my makeup bag, along with some tips and fun facts for some of the products.
Makeup Bag – I am OBSESSED with this makeup bag. It’s in two of my favorite colors and I love the quilted look it has. The zipper is also rose gold which is so gorgeous. It’s the perfect size because it fits everything I need but still is small enough to fit in an overnight bag.
Preparation – I always, always, always have to make sure my skin is moisturized before I apply makeup. I have really dry skin, especially in the winter, so if I don’t keep it moisturizer then when I apply my makeup it looks flaky and gross. At my most recent stop at Sephora I had the most wonderful beauty consultant help me and she introduced me to the total age defy cream for eyes & lips by Sephora. She explain that the reason why my dark circles are so noticeable is because often times women neglect to moisturize their eyes specifically. Without moisture the skin because thin and loses its color and elasticity, I never knew that before! So this cream was a must buy for me! Then I have my bareMinerals makeup primer which just helps hold all the makeup and keep my redness down.
Brushes – The classic multitasked powder brush is what I use for my powder foundation for a nice full coverage. Then I have the concealer brush for extra touch ups! Also, I have a classic bronzer brush.
Skin – I finally got bareMinerals powder fountain after wanting it for years! I’m loving it. A little goes a long way and i feel like you can hardly tell I’m wearing any makeup at all. I’ve used Clinique’s bronzer for years and still love the way it gives me a healthy glow!
Eyes – My Mimzy got me Urban Decay‘s NAKED pallet for Christmas and of course I’m loving it. So many beautiful shades. Smashbox also has some great trio eyeshadows that are great for doing a smokey eye in any color. Before I put on my eye shadow I always use Mac‘s eye primer which helps make the eye shadow stick and not become creased by the end of the day. My eyeliner is the smoothest and most even liner I’ve ever used. It’s literally all the things you love about a liquid liner but in a pencil. The mascara by Tarte is super cool looking and is actually Amazonian clay! Cool right?!
Finish – My finishing touches begin with doing my eyebrows. Lorac‘s eyebrow kit comes with wax, to shape the brow however you like. Then it has two shades which adds dimension and makes the brows look natural, rather than having just one solid color. Lastly, I use Urban Decay’s makeup setting spray, which is a lifesaver! I was introduced to this right before my wedding, and after a day of crying, laughing, and dancing, my makeup still looked great for my entire wedding day!
There you have it! My makeup bag is filled with some great finds, so I hope you get to try some out and have success! Have any of you had luck with these products? What’s your favorite item in your makeup bag?
